Z dvema različnima tabelama, v sklopu katerih smo obravnavali obmejene občine Slovenije in Hrvaške, smo izdelali karto, ki prikazuje osvetljena površja obmejnega območja. Analizirali smo zvezo med SOL in socioekonomskimi kazalniki v Sloveniji.

Title:Estimating Economic Activity of Border Municipalities of Slovenia and Croatia with the use on the DMSP-OLS Satellite Data
Abstract:The purpose of this thesis was to present the surface illumination trends based on the DMSP-OLS satellite data. The SOL variable was calculated for all Slovenian and Croatian border municipalities which we have chosen to work with. A map which shows the illuminated surface of the border area was made from two separate tables dealing with Slovenian and Croatin border municipalities. We analyzed the relationship between SOL and socioeconomic indicators in Slovenia. Due to lack of data, the graphic display for Croatia was not made. The information about the activity of the population and surface illumination in Slovenia was collected. The results show that directional coefficient of the linear trend signalled to those border municipalities in Slovenia which have a higher level of population activity and higher surface illumination. Owing to the socioeconomic indicators it was established that more residents have graduated from secondary school, which was also visible on an 1x1 km map. The difference in economic activity of Slovenian and Croatian border municipalities was also established. Moreover, with the help of the graph we have gathered the results which show that the illumination in Croatia is more dynamic. However, when comparing the entire border region, it can be confirmed with 95% of certainty that there are no differences in economic activity on the illuminated surface.
