Abstract:Naloga naslavlja tematiko izstopajočega vedenja otrok v predšolskem obdobju. V nalogi smo opredelili čustveni in socialni razvoj predšolskega otroka in predsta-vili heterogene oblike izstopajočega vedenja.

Title:Preschool teachers' responses to disruptive behaviour of preschool children
Abstract:Thesis deals with disruptive behaviour of preschool children. Our research originates from the hypothesis that disruptive behaviour results from social interactions and that its perception is subjectively conditioned. We distinguish behaviours which are developmentally conditioned and are as such typical for different periods of child's development and behaviours which are disruptive and deviant and as such classified as emotional and behavioural problems or disorders. The thesis defines emotional and social development of preschool children and presents heterogeneous forms of disruptive behaviour. We discovered that factors affecting the disruptive behaviour most commonly intertwine and do not originate only from the family but also from characteristics of every individual and social environment. In the empirical part of the thesis we used qualitative research method, namely a semi-structured interview. Four professional kindergarten workers working as kindergarten teachers were included into our research. We have established that teachers mostly list developmentally conditioned behaviours as deviant forms of behaviour. As the main factor for disruptive behaviour they list parents, but also mention child's characteristics and environmental factors. Perception of disruptive behaviour influences their responses. Behaviour of teachers must not be based on their own personal beliefs and cultural norms. Responses, which are not supported by the knowledge of actual causes for disruptive behaviour, are groundless. Their responses to disruptive behaviour should therefore be knowledge-based.
