Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti pomen družinskega okolja in pridobiti informacije, kako in koliko so starši na Prevaljah športno/gibalno aktivni skupaj z otroki.

Title:The importance of family environment for physical and sport development of a child
Abstract:The aim of the diploma thesis was to establish the importance of family environment and to gather information about how and how much are the parents in Prevalje sporty/physically active together with their children. The diploma thesis was written during the covid-19 epidemic, therefore the anonymous survey was designed in a way, that the parents answered, how it was before the covid-19 epidemic. 190 surveys were handed out, from which 96 were returned and analysed. The diploma paper consists of the theoretical and the empirical part. In the theoretical part the motor skill development of a child and factors affecting motor skill development are presented. The sports development of a child and the influence of the family is presented. In the empirical part the results of the anonymous survey are presented. The surveys were filled in by the parents whose children attend the kindergarten Krojaček Hlaček Prevalje. Findings of the survey – almost all the surveyed parents are familiar with the importance of the sports/physical activities for a faster development of children on other fields; most of the parents are active together with their children multiple times a week, most of them practice hiking and hill-walking and the least of them rollerblading; if they had more possibility, they would do sports with their children more often.
Keywords:motor skill development, parents, pre-school child, sports and physical activities.
