Title:Nadgradnja ERP sistema Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 na ERP sistem Microsoft D365 Finance v podjetju X

Abstract:To, da je poslovanje podjetij v današnjem času vedno bolj zapleteno in večinoma računalniško podprto, ni več nobena skrivnost niti novost. Poslovanje podjetij je računalniško podprto že en čas, in sicer z ERP-sistemi, ki pomagajo pri načrtovanju virov. Povečuje se tudi količina podatkov, ki jih podjetja imajo in jih obvladujejo v skupni podatkovni bazi, ki jo ponujajo ERP-sistemi. Tudi to, da podjetja za poslovanje uporabljajo več različnih sistemov, ni nobena novost. Tako ni potrebna samo ustrezna tehnološka podprtost podjetij, ampak tudi zmožnost različnih sistemov, da so med seboj povezani oziroma integrirani in kljub temu omogočajo nemoteno uporabo. Čeprav tehnologija močno prispeva k poslovnim koristim podjetja, sama po sebi ne ustvarja koristi. Podjetja so tista, ki morajo najprej opredeliti in pregledati svojo strategijo in cilje, zagotoviti ustrezne človeške vire in prenoviti poslovne procese za optimalno poslovanje. Šele po tem lahko podjetje s pomočjo tehnologije doseže želene poslovne koristi. Z uvedbo tehnologije, oziroma v našem primeru uvedbo ERP-sistema, pa se vse šele začne. Podjetje mora pred, med in po uvedbi nenehno sodelovati s ponudnikom ERP-sistema in zagotoviti vzdrževanje ter podporo sistemu, ki se po nekaj letih uporabe zaključi. Po preteku podpore, ki jo zagotavlja ponudnik ERP-sistema, se veliko podjetij odloči za nadgradnjo obstoječega ERP-sistema ali pa za uvedbo novega. Ne glede na odločitev podjetja o tem, ali želi nadgraditi ali uvesti nov ERP-sistem, mora najprej razumeti slabosti obstoječega sistema in prednosti, ki jih lahko pridobi z nadgrajenim oziroma novim ERP-sistemom. Pri magistrskem delu smo v sklopu teoretičnega dela obravnavali področje ERP-sistemov, se osredotočili na module, ki jih ponujajo, in skušali predstaviti njihove glavne prednosti za optimizacijo poslovanja podjetij. Opredelili smo vrste ERP-sistemov, predstavili prevladujoče ERP-sisteme na trgu in njihove trende. Posamično smo obravnavali postopek nadgradnje obstoječega ERP-sistema in postopek uvedbe novega ERP-sistema ter se s pomočjo primerjave obeh pristopov ukvarjali z vprašanjem, zakaj bi se podjetje odločilo za enega ali drugega. Pri magistrskem delu smo se v sklopu empiričnega dela osredinili na podjetje X in njihovo nadgradnjo ERP-sistema Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 na ERP-sistem Microsoft D365 Finance. Najprej smo obravnavali obstoječi ERP-sistem v podjetju X, analizirali uporabo sistema ter nato preučili slabosti in predvsem razloge za nadgradnjo. Nato smo obravnavali ERP-sistem Microsoft D365 Finance in se osredotočili na prednosti, ki jih bo sistem prinesel podjetju X. Ker je podjetje X trenutno v postopku nadgradnje, smo opredelili ključne korake v njihovem procesu in podali predloge za uspešno nadgradnjo.

Title:The upgrade of the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 to the ERP system Microsoft D365 Finance in company X
Abstract:It is no longer a secret or a novelty, that the business operations of companies are becoming more and more complex and mostly computerized. For some time now, business operations of companies have been computer-supported with ERP systems that help them with planning their resources. The amount of data that companies have at their disposal and manage in the common database offered by ERP systems is also increasing. Also, the fact that companies use several different systems for business is nothing new. Thus, not only the appropriate technological support of companies is required, but also the ability of different systems to be interconnected or integrated and nevertheless enable uninterrupted use. Although technology contributes greatly to a company’s business benefits, it does not in itself generate benefits. Companies are the ones who must first define and review their strategy and goals, provide adequate human resources and overhaul business processes for optimal operations. Only after that, a company can achieve the desired business benefits with the help of technology. With the implementation of technology or in our case implementation of ERP system into a company, this is just the beginning. Companies must constantly work with their ERP system provider and provide maintenance and support to the system, which is completed after a few years of use. After the expiration of the support provided by the ERP system provider, many companies decide to upgrade the existing ERP system or implement a new ERP system. Regardless of a company’s decision about whether it wants to upgrade or implement a new ERP system, it needs to understand the benefits it can gain from a particular ERP system. In the master's thesis, as part of the theoretical work, we discussed the field of ERP systems, focused on the modules they offer and tried to present their main advantages for optimizing business operations. We defined types of ERP systems, presented what we consider to be the dominant ERP systems on the market, and then focused on trends. We individually discussed the process of upgrading the existing ERP system and the process of implementing a new ERP system, and by comparing the two approaches, we dealt with the question of why would a company choose one or another approach. In the master's thesis, as part of the empirical work, we focused on company X and their upgrade of the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 to the ERP system Microsoft D365 Finance. Firstly, we looked at the existing ERP system in company X, analyzed the use of the system, and then examined the weaknesses and especially the reasons for the upgrade. After that, we discussed the ERP system Microsoft D365 Finance and focused on the benefits that the system will bring to company X. As company X is currently in the process of upgrading, we identified key steps in their process and made suggestions for a successful upgrade.
