Slednja omogočajo uporabnikom interakcijo z drugimi uporabniki in deljenje podatkov s prijatelji, znanci in javnostmi.

Title:Self-Disclosure on social networking sites: Factors related to information sharing among Facebook users
Abstract:Communication and socialization today are increasingly dependent on information and communication technologies and internet services, including social networks. The latter allow users to interact with other users and share information with friends, acquaintances and publicly. However, there are also many risks associated with the use of social networks (such as misuse of data, various forms of blackmail and harassment, identity theft, account hacking, scams and frauds), and it is therefore important to raise users' awareness of the risks and consequences of self-disclosure and sharing of personal data. To this end, it is important to understand which circumstances encourage or inhibit users' decisions to share information on such networks. The aim of the thesis was to find out which factors from the Theory of Planned Behaviour and the Privacy Calculus Model are associated with self-disclosure on Facebook among users in Slovenia and whether the perception of these factors differs between users who share personal data with other people and users who do not. A quantitative study was conducted using an online survey with 195 respondents. We found that all the factors included in the survey are related to self-disclosure on Facebook. Attitudes towards sharing information are correlated most strongly, while perceived control over the information shared exhibited the weakest correlation. We also showed that users who share personal information on Facebook have different attitudes towards sharing information and different perceptions of benefits and risks than users who do not share personal information. This is one of the few studies on self-disclosure and sharing of personal data on social networks in Slovenia that has included factors from different theoretical backgrounds. The results are useful for planning future research in this area, and the findings can be taken into account in raising users' awareness about safe use of the internet and educating them about the importance of privacy settings and personal data security.
