Abstract:Na naravnem in sejanem travniku v okolici Šentjurja smo v letu 2020 izvedli poskus, kjer smo primerjalno proučili, kako in koliko prirašča travna ruša med rastno dobo. Z vzorčenjem smo začeli po opravljeni prvi spomladanski košnji. Vzorce zelinja smo jemali tedensko do naslednje košnje celotnega travnika in po njej, in sicer vso rastno dobo. V poskusu smo na obeh travnikih ovrednotili pridelek suhe snovi (t SS/ha) in prirast travne ruše (kg SS/ha/dan).

Title:Green cover growth on natural and sown meadows
Abstract:In 2020, an experiment was conducted on a natural and sown meadow in the vicinity of Šentjur, where it was comparatively studied how and to what extent grass cover grows during the growing season. The sampling was started after the first spring mowing. The samples of green mass were taken weekly until the next mowing of the entire lawn, and the entire growing season. In the experiment, the dry matter yield (t DMY/ha) and the daily dry matter grass growth (kg DMY/ha/day) were evaluated on both meadows. Based on the results, a statistically higher yield (11.28 t DMY/ha) was produced on the natural meadow than on the sown meadow (9.56 t DMY/ha), respectively. Furthermore, among all successive mowings achieved, both times in the second cut, the statistically highest DMY was obtained on a natural meadow (3.33 t DMY/ha), and the lowest on a sown one (2.80 t DMY/ha). The average daily dry matter grass growth of natural (79.32 kg DMY/ha/day) and (76.56 kg DMY/ha/day) sown meadow was statistically comparable. Additionally, it was statistically significantly better on the sown meadow at the first cut (92.31 kg DMY/ha/day). Statistically, the lowest daily dry matter grass growth (54.63 kg DMY/ha/day) was also attributed to the sown meadow during the fourth cut. The daily grass growth of natural meadow grew less intensively (73.14 kg DMY/ha/day) in the spring than the sown grassland. However, its growth was more or less uniform after each mowing throughout the growing season.
