Abstract:Avtomobilska industrija predstavlja eno izmed ključnih gonilnih sil gospodarskega napredka in razvoja.

Title:The international economic environment and the automobile industry
Abstract:Today, automobile industry represents one of the key driving forces of the economic development and evolution. Precisely because of this, it is assumed to be one of the most important industries in the world. The development of a motor vehicle involves more than 20.000 different components, an abundance of knowledge, and enormous investments in research and development. The successful running of the industry is also precluded by the seamless co-operation between the vehicle developers and their suppliers. In recent times, the industry seems to be experiencing certain key changes. Amongst the alterations is the widespread of globalisation; the upsurge of sustainable mobility – lead by the electrification of vehicles; the universal digitalisation; and attempts at diminishing the greenhouse gas emissions. In the recent turn of events, the industry has been largely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The impact of a worldwide pandemic is reflected in both production as well as sales numbers of motorized vehicles. Moreover, the pandemic has not only affected the largest OEM but also the smaller suppliers of Slovenian origins.
