Abstract:
Diplomska naloga je teoretična in empirična raziskava o medijski prisotnosti v NBA mehurčku. Cilj naloge je bil raziskati kako so informacije prihajale iz NBA mehurčka ter kako je javnost dostopala do njih. Raziskali smo tudi delovanje slovenskih športnih novinarjev v času pandemije zaradi covida-19. V nalogi smo predstavili športno novinarstvo, raziskali NBA mehurček in razloge za njegovo uvedbo ter delovanje športnih novinarjev in komentatorjev znotraj mehurčka. V diplomskem delu smo analizirali uporabo družbenih medijev s strani ekip in igralcev. Podrobno smo predstavili načine dostopanja do NBA tekem ter raziskali gledanost v NBA mehurčku. V empiričnem delu smo predstavili potek raziskave in metodologijo, ki smo jo izbrali kot relevantno za naše delo. Z namenom podrobnega razumevanja problematike smo izvedli anketo med širšo javnostjo o njihovem dostopanju do informacij iz NBA mehurčka, izvedeni pa so bili tudi intervjuji s športnimi novinarji na temo njihovega delovanja v času pandemije zaradi covida-19. Diplomsko nalogo zaključujemo s sklepnimi ugotovitvami o medijski pokritosti NBA mehurčka ter o delovanju slovenskih novinarjev v času pandemije.

Title:
Analysis of media presence within the NBA bubble
Abstract:
This graduation thesis is a theoretical and empirical research paper on media presence in the NBA bubble. The goal of the thesis is to investigate how information came from the NBA bubble and how the public accessed it. We also investigated the work of Slovenian sports journalists during the covid-19 pandemic. In the thesis, we presented sports journalism, researched the NBA bubble and the reasons for its introduction, as well as the work of sports journalists and commentators within the bubble. We then analyzed the use of social media by the teams and players. In detail we then present the ways of accessing NBA games and explore the ratings in the NBA bubble. In the empirical part, we presented the course of the research and the methodology we chose as relevant to our work. With the intention of understanding the issue, we conducted a survey with the general public about their access to information from the NBA bubble, and interviews with sports journalists on the topic of their work during the pandemic due to covid-19. We conclude our diploma thesis with concluding remarks on the media coverage of the NBA bubble, as well as on the work of slovenian journalists during the Covid-19 pandemic.
