Vendar hitra rast ni koristila vsem slojem prebivalstva enako in enako vplivala na rast dohodka, kar je privedlo do močnega povečanja dohodkovne in premoženjske neenakosti.

Title:Analysis of economic development and economic inequality in China
Abstract:China began to open up after 1978, and since then its economy has experienced great development. Average economic growth was 10 % on an annual basis since 1978. However, rapid growth did not benefit to all sections of the population equally and affected income growth equally, leading to a sharp increase in income and wealth inequality. The research describes the general characteristics of the Chinese economy, the Human Development Index and the Inequality-Adjusted Human Development Index present human development in China. The main topic of the research is the analysis of economic inequality, which is presented with various indicators: wealth-income ratio, the size distribution of income and wealth, Gini coefficient, quintile ratio, Palma ratio and multidimensional poverty index. Both income and wealth inequality have risen sharply in the last three decades. We also discuss gender inequality given by the Gender Development Index, the Gender Inequality Index, and describe the role of women and the gender pay gap in China. In recent years, women have made a major breakthrough in the level of education acquired, but it is less accessible to them in rural areas. In the last chapter, we briefly present the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on economic inequality in China.
