Abstract:	Diplomsko delo obravnava pot iz nasilnega partnerskega odnosa, kaj žrtvi da moč za odhod iz njega ter obdobje po zapustitvi nasilnega partnerja. Nasilje v partnerskem odnosu še vedno predstavlja veliko težavo v naši družbi. Največ žrtev je žensk, vendar je vedno več tudi moških žrtev. Z nasiljem, ki ga izvaja moški nad žensko, se povečuje tudi neenakost med spoloma, predvsem se kaže v moči med njima, kar posledično vodi tudi do diskriminacije žensk. Na žalost se nasilje izvaja za »štirimi« stenami in tako ga je še težje prepoznati oziroma odkriti, kar žrtvam nasilja predstavlja še toliko težji odhod, saj jih spremlja strah, da jim nihče ne bo verjel. Zato je toliko pomembneje, da se o nasilju več govori, informira in se o tem ozavešča širšo družbo. Z ozaveščanjem in preprečevanjem ter nudenjem pomoči med seboj sodelujejo državne institucije in nevladne organizacije. V diplomskem delu so predstavljene oblike nasilja ter zakaj žrtve molčijo in vztrajajo v nasilnem partnerskem odnosu. Temu sledi odločanje o zapustitvi nasilnega partnerja, kar ženski predstavlja veliko tveganje, da se situacije s tem ne bi še bolj poslabšala, saj obstaja velika verjetnost, da bi nasilnež, ko bi dognal, da ga partnerka želi zapustiti, nasilje samo še stopnjeval, in tu gredo žrtve na vse ali nič. Ko se oseba, ki doživlja partnerja, dokončno odloči, da naredi konec tovrstnemu odnosu, se lahko obrne na državne institucije ali na nevladne organizacije in tam pridobi ustrezno pomoč. Diplomsko delo se oblik pomoči in procesa odhajanja iz nasilnega odnosa ter državnih institucij in nevladnih organizacij, ki jim pri tem kar se da pomagajo, podrobneje dotaknem v nadaljevanju. Diplomsko delo se dotakne tudi posledic, ki jih nasilje povzroči, in okrevanja po njem, ko ženska dokončno obrne novi list v svojem življenju.

Title:	The way out of an abusive relationship
Abstract:	My diploma thesis deals with the way out of an abusive relationship, what gives a victim the power to leave it and dealing with the period after leaving an abusive partner. Abuse in a relationship still presents a massive problem in our society. Victims are mostly women, but there has been a vast increase in male victims as well. The abuse that is carried out by a man over a woman shows the rise of gender inequality, especially shown in their strength, which in turn also leads to discrimination against women. Unfortunately, abuse happens behind “closed” doors and is therefore even harder to recognize or find out. This problem causes an even more difficult escape for the victims, as they are scared that nobody will believe them. That is why it is even more important to talk about abuse and making the general public aware of its consequences. State institutions and non-governmental organizations participate by raising awareness and by preventing or helping the victims. The thesis presents forms of aid, why the victims stay silent and why they insist on staying in an abusive relationship, followed by the decision of leaving an abusive partner, which presents a risk for women. They do not want to make the situation worse, as there is a good chance that the perpetrator would find out that their partner wants to leave and then increase the level of violence, so at this stage, the victims go for it. When the person in an abusive relationship finally has enough and wants to end it, they can turn to state institutions or non-governmental organizations for help. We touch upon more detailed forms of aid and the process of leaving an abusive relationship, as well as the organizations that help them, in the course of this diploma thesis. The thesis also presents consequences caused by abuse and recovery after it, when a woman conclusively turns over a new leaf in her life.
