Abstract:V magistrskem delu je opisan proces razvoja metode in določanja ustreznih parametrov po-obdelave trirazsežnih rekonstrukcij segmentacij preiskav z računalniško tomografijo (CT).

Title:Development of post-processing method for three-dimensional reconstruction of computed tomography medical examinations
Abstract:This work describes the process of method development and determination of appropriate parameters for post-processing of three-dimensional reconstructions of segmentation examinations with computed tomography (CT). Research is limited to cases of major cranial bone defects. The work further presents the process of segmentation and three-dimensional reconstruction of the results of CT examination in the DICOM data form. Based on one example, the influence of the thickness of the CT examination layer on the magnitude of the staircase effect and the density of the triangles of the mesh of the reconstructed model is presented. The same example is then used to present the individual post-processing operations for smoothing, reducing, relaxing and regularizing the mesh of the reconstructed model. Methods for estimating the smoothing effect and determining the deviation from the initial three-dimensional geometry are also presented. Based on the results of one study with two different thicknesses of the examination layers, two procedures with different values of post-processing parameters were selected and used post-processing of three-dimensional reconstructions of ten different cases of CT examinations of skulls. An analysis of the effects of individual post-processing operations on the smoothness of the model, the density of the triangles, and deviations from the original geometry of the reconstruction was performed. In conclusion, the main findings of the presented research are presented and guidelines for further work in the field are given.
