Abstract:Obveščevalne službe imajo v današnjem času izjemno velik pomen. Državnim voditeljem zagotavljajo ključne informacije za zagotavljanje nacionalne varnosti. Diplomsko delo je namenjeno primerjavi treh obveščevalnih agencij. V začetnem delu je predstavljena sovjetska obveščevalna agencija KGB, ruska FSB in ameriška NSA. Odbor za državno varnost ali KGB je bil glavna obveščevalna agencija v Sovjetski zvezi, ki je deloval od leta 1954 pa vse do razpada Sovjetske zveze. V svojem času je bil ena najboljših obveščevalnih agencij na svetu, mnogi pa so ga smatrali kot močnega nasprotnika ameriške CIA. Zvezna varnostna agencija ali FSB je glavna naslednica KGB, ki je nastala nekaj let po razpadu Sovjetske zveze. Ima velik vpliv v Ruski federaciji, mnogi pa jo danes smatrajo kot današnji ruski KGB. Nacionalna varnostna agencija ali NSA je najdražja, največja in najbolj skrivnostna ameriška obveščevalna agencija. Ukvarja se z elektronsko obveščevalno dejavnostjo in varovanjem ameriškega informacijskega sistema. V diplomskem delu je predstavljen njihov nastanek, struktura, organiziranost, naloge, delovanje in operacije. Po analizi podatkov je bila opravljena primerjava med agencijami, kjer so se ugotavljale podobnosti med njimi. Bilo je ugotovljeno, da sta si KGB in FSB med seboj zelo podobna, je pa med njima tudi nekaj razlik. Podobnost med njima je bila pričakovana glede na to, da je FSB glavni dedič KGB. NSA ima tudi nekatere podobnosti s KGB in FSB, vendar pa se v večini stvari od njih razlikuje.

Title:Comparison of intelligence and security agencies - KGB (USSR), FSB (RF) and NSA (USA)
Abstract:Intelligence agencies are extremely important nowadays. They provide key information to national leaders to ensure national security. The diploma thesis is intended to compare three intelligence agencies. In the initial part they are presented, the Soviet intelligence agency KGB, the Russian FSB and the American NSA. The Committee for State Security, or KGB, was the main intelligence agency in the Soviet Union, operating from 1954 until the collapse of the Soviet Union. At one time, it was one of the best intelligence agencies in the world, and many considered it as a strong opponent of the American CIA. The Federal Security Agency, or FSB, is the main successor to the KGB, which emerged a few years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It has great influence in the Russian Federation, and many today regard it as today’s Russian KGB. The National Security Agency, or NSA, is the most expensive, largest, and most secretive U.S. intelligence agency. It is engaged in electronic intelligence and security of the American information system. In diploma thesis is presented their origin, structure, organization, tasks, activity and operations. After analyse the data, a comparison was made between the agencies, where similarities between them were found. It was found that the KGB and the FSB are very similar to each other, but there are also some differences between them. The similarity between them was to be expected, given that the FSB is the main successor to the KGB. The NSA also has some similarities with the KGB and FSB, but it differs from them in most things.
