Abstract:V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela sem razložila, kaj so študentske izmenjave, in naštela ter opisala najpogostejše oz. najbolj poznane programe študentskih izmenjav.

Title:The perceived risk of students who went on the student exchange
Abstract:In the theoretical part of this thesis, I first gave a general overview of what student exchange is, describing the most common and most known student exchange programmes. I went on to outline perceived risks, defining them according to different risk types. I explored and listed the most common risk mitigation strategies, and integrated my own student exchange experience. The practical part of this thesis includes a research, which I conducted through a survey on perceived risks experienced by students from various countries before going on a student exchange to Lisbon. I chose this destination, because I myself had gone there as an exchange student, and it was therefore easier to get in touch with the students participating in the survey. The survey questionnaire concerns four key risks, i.e. financial, psychosocial, functional, and time-loss risks. I was interested to find out whether the risks vary by country or continent of one's origin, as well as which risk type stands out the most in terms of being perceived as the most common risk before embarking on a student exchange.
Keywords:student exchange, perceived risk, risk mitigation strategies.
