Abstract:Magistrska naloga obravnava pomen in učinkovitost uporabe finančne analize pri opredelitvi zdravja podjetij izbranega vzorca podjetij.

Title:Financial analysis as a tool for business health analysis
Abstract:The master's thesis discusses the importance and effectiveness of the use of financial analysis in defining the health of companies in a selected sample of companies. In the theoretical part, the financial analysis is presented in more detail, which is considered as a general analysis of companies and strives for its main goal, the definition of the business of the analyzed company. Since we know a lot about the current state of the company with the help of financial analysis, it is necessary to emphasize that there can be several reasons for performing financial analysis. These can be internal causes, or they can be external or external causes. The internal reasons for the use of financial analysis include the implementation of financial analysis by employees who want to learn as much as possible about the actual state of health of the company or try to define potential threats in the company's operations. From the external reasons for the use of financial analysis, we include, for example, banks that want to know the company that is asking them for a loan. However, financial analysis can be used by financial investors who weigh whether it is worth investing available funds in a particular company or not. Just as there are many reasons to use financial analysis, there are also many ways to use financial analysis itself. What they all have in common, however, is that they use the available information from the financial statements to perform financial analysis. However, the results of the financial analysis on the selected sample show that the calculated expressive powers of financial indicators and models do not give comparable results. Thus, the results show that the financial analysis with the help of indicators indicates a moderate operation of the company, while the values obtained with the help of models indicate problems in the business. However, the comparative expressive powers of financial indicators and models are not the only ones that do not agree. Namely, the obtained results of the three models used on the selected sample show that one of the used models indicates the state of the company's operations in the opposite direction as the other two models. When using financial analysis, it is also necessary to emphasize that using financial analysis on the selected sample, the impact on the operations of companies by the industry in which the analyzed company operates was clearly shown. The financial analysis also included companies that are heavily dependent on the current situation and current changes in the level of operation of the national economy.
