Abstract:	Manjše ekološke kmetije z zelenjavo so pogosto v dilemi, ali pridelovati lastne sadike ali kupiti certificirane ekološke sadike vrtnarskih obratov. Na podlagi dostopne znanstvene in strokovne literature o različnih sistemih pridelave sadik so na primeru solate predstavljene prednosti in slabosti različnih tehnik pridelave sadik ter nekatere tudi preskušene v enostavnem poljskem poskusu s petimi različnimi načini pridelave sadik solate. Iz preprostega poljskega poskusa smo zaznali tako vpliv prostornine posameznih celic kot barve in materiala. Sadike črnih plastičnih gojitvenih plošč velikih dimenzij celic so v primerjavi z ostalimi obravnavanji (plošče iz stiropora, stisnjene prstene grudice in papirnati lončki v trakovih) uspevale statistično značilno bolje. Najmanjši pridelek tržne mase je bil izmerjen pri sadikah, pridelanih v papirnatih lončkih s trakom. Te imajo tudi najmanjšo prostornino celice.

Title:	Features of Different Organic Seedling Production Techniques for Smaller Farms in the Case of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.)
Abstract:	Smaller organic vegetable farms are often in a dilemma whether to grow their own seedlings or buy certified organic seedlings from horticultural centers. Based on the available scientific and professional literature on different seedling production techniques, the advantages and disadvantages of different seedling production techniques are presented in the case of lettuce, and some were tested in a simple field experiment with five different ways of growing lettuce seedlings. In the field experiment, the influence individual cell volume as well as color and material were observed. Black plastic culture plate seedlings of large cell dimensions performed statistically significantly better compared to other treatments (Styrofoam plates, soil blocks and paper pots). The worst market mass yield was measured in seedlings grown in paper pots. These also had the smallest cell volume.
