Title:The agile management as an imperative in healtcare organizations
Abstract:In the 21st century, precarious and critical situations in both the external and internal organizational environment require healthcare organizations to incorporate an agile approach into their operational scenarios. An agile approach will allow them to become more responsive and agile, and better use opportunities in a rapidly changing external environment. Unfortunately, the fact is that today only a small number of healthcare organizations in Slovenia are genuinely agile and that due to turbulence, complexity and growing changes in the healthcare sector, agility is becoming an increasingly critical capability that all healthcare organizations will need to consider if they want to survive until the end of the decade. In such a complex and stormy environment, the leaders of healthcare organizations must decide whether to make efforts for organizational changes and adjustments that will enable the transformation of the organization into more agile or risk their organization falling behind. Based on the Delphi study, the research was conducted among employees of Slovenian healthcare organizations. The study focuses on preparing an organizational culture model that will provide concepts that will make it possible to identify a healthcare organization as agile one. Thus, the model can also be used to adapt and introduce organizational changes in healthcare organizations. These changes are needed to make the healthcare organization agile. This exploratory study aims to explore the consensus among employees in healthcare organizations on new pragmatic approaches that will enable the implementation of organizational culture. The goal of the development and implementation of organizational culture must base on the fact that it must positively impact the development of the phenomenon of agile health organization. The very introduction of a new organizational culture will also contribute to employee's efforts, which are necessary to ensure the successful transformation of the health care organization into an agile one.
