Abstract:V prvem delu magistrske naloge podamo teoretično podlago za obravnavo prometa. Posamezne odseke klasificiramo na podlagi analize izmerjenih podatkov pretoka, zasedenosti, gostote in hitrosti prometa. Z analizo meritev ugotovimo, na katerih odsekih in v katerih časovnih obdobjih prihaja do zastojev.

Title:Analysis of traffic on slovenian roads
Abstract:The first part of the master thesis is a theoretical basis for dealing with traffic. We review the professional literature, define physical quantities to describe the phase states of traffic, and present mathematical models of traffic that have decisively influenced the historical development of mathematical modeling of traffic. We distinguish between macroscopic, mesoscopic, and microscopic models and highlight those that are further used for the analysis of measured data on Slovenian roads. Data for individual sections of Slovenian motorways and expressways are obtained from the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency. Individual sections are classified based on the analysis of measured data on flow, occupancy, density, and traffic speed. By analyzing the measurements, we determine on which sections and in what timeframes there are congestions. The purpose of this analysis is to find model solutions that aim to eliminate them. We develop various model solutions to eliminate congestion on section 461, the A1 motorway from the Domžale entrance to the Zadobrava junction. More precisely, we consider an additional traffic lane, the temporary introduction of a traffic lane for vehicles with several passengers in the parking lane, and a traffic ban for trucks and buses on weekdays between 6 am, and 9 am. The simulations show that different solutions are differently efficient, with the flow of traffic increasing in all offered solutions. Based on the results of the simulations, we conclude that as a short-term solution, a traffic ban for trucks is appropriate, and in the long run, congestion on this section would be effectively reduced by building an additional traffic lane. The developed model solutions are also a good basis for eliminating congestion on other sections.
