Abstract:
Na začetku magistrske naloge je opis Pärtovega zgodnjega življenja, eskperimentiranja z različnimi glasbenimi slogi ter njegove prve skladbe. Njegovo najbolj kontroverzno delo Credo, ki je glede na stanje v komunistčni Estoniji bilo neprimerno za tisti čas. Sledi duhovno usmerjeno obdobje v katerem Pärt začne razvijati svoj revolucionarni stil tintinnabuli. Nato opišem njegova zgodnja dela napisana v tintinnabuli stilu. Osrednji del magistrske naloge predstavlja analiza Pärtovega dela Spiegel im Spiegel. V zaključku seminarske opišem skladateljevo glasbeno pot po 1980 in vrnitev iz Berlina v Estoniju.

Title:
Arvo pärt: biography and analysis of the musical piece spiegel im spiegel
Abstract:
The introductory part of the master’s thesis gives a descrip on of Pärt’s early life, his experimening with various musical styles and his first compositions. Pärt’s most controversial work Credo that was inappropriate for the situation in communist Estonia at the time is analysed. Followed by a spiritual period in which Pärt began to develop his revolutionary style tintinnabuli. Description of his early works in tintinnabuli style is given. The central part of the master’s thesis is the analysis of Pärt’s work Spiegel im Spiegel. In the conclusion of the thesis the composer’s musical path after 1980 and return from Berlin to Estonia are described.
