Abstract:Uvod: Število carskih rezov pri nas in v svetu narašča. Metode: Izvedli smo pregled literature v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, SAGE in Web of Science. Vključili smo randomizirane kontrolirane klinične raziskave v angleškem jeziku, objavljene med letoma 2012 in 2022. Za prikaz iskanja, pregleda in izbire člankov smo uporabili priporočila PRISMA. Članke smo kritično ocenili. Izvedli smo vsebinsko analizo.

Title:Physical activity during pregnancy and the incidence of cesarean section
Abstract:Introduction: The number of caesarean sections is increasing in our country and worldwide. Caesarean section is associated with more complications than vaginal birth. Physical activity during pregnancy is a measure that has many benefits for both mother and baby and improves birth outcomes. The aim of this thesis is to investigate how physical activity during pregnancy affects the incidence of caesarean section. Methods: A literature review of PubMed, SAGE, and Web of Science databases was conducted. Randomized controlled clinical trials published in English between 2012 and 2022 were included. The PRISMA recommendations were used to show the search, review, and selection of articles. The papers were critically assessed and analyzed using content analysis and presented in a descriptive manner. Results: 12 studies were included in the final analysis. Physical activity during pregnancy influences the incidence of caesarean section and may help to reduce its incidence. Moderate physical activity for 30 to 60 minutes, two to four times a week is recommended. Discussion and conclusion: We found that physical activity during pregnancy reduces the incidence of caesarean section. Health professionals should encourage physical activity, as this could have an impact on the higher number of vaginal births.
