Abstract:Plastika je del našega vsak dana. Kljub zbiranju in ločevanju odpadkov je del teh plastičnih odpadkov pristalo v naravi, kjer so prišli v stik z živalmi in rastlinami.

Title:Analysis of the problems of accumulation of plastic waste during the COVID-19 pandemics
Abstract:Plastic is part of our everyday life. It can be found almost everywhere. It is used in construction, robotics, textile and other industries. It is precisely because of its properties and easy and cheap processing that it is a popular material that is used for various purposes. With the emergence of the COVID-19 epidemic, measures were taken to limit the spread of the virus. These measures included hand disinfection, wearing plastic gloves, wearing face masks, self-testing... where plastic was present. During the time of COVID-19, the amount of plastic waste has increased, which has put a strain on the environment. Despite the collection and separation of waste, part of this plastic waste ended up in nature, where it came into contact with animals and plants. This is how plastic entered our food chain. During the epidemic, the use of crude oil decreased, which had the effect of reducing the prices of the new plastic produced. Thus, recycled plastic was more expensive than newly created, which attracted the interest of buyers. Thus, large amounts of additional plastic entered circulation.
Keywords:Plastic waste, COVID-19, recycling, incinerators, face masks, microplastics, nanoplastics.
