Izmerili smo optične lastnosti papirja in ovrednotili tisk z inkjet in laserskim tiskalnikom.

Title:Influence of calcium carbonate particle size on inkjet coated paper properties
Abstract:The optical properties of pigments used to coat papers are related to their morphology. The scattering of light through the coated layer depends on the particle size distribution of the pigment. In this thesis the effect of different particle sizes of calcium carbonate pigments on the optical and printing properties of the final coated paper is discussed. Different particle sizes were used to coat the base papers. The study was carried out at the same coating weights. Calcium carbonate suspension products from regular production were used and the particle size was measured. We then added starch and latex binders, calcium stearate metalloid and optiblank optical brightener. The mixtures were diluted so that the dry weight was approximately the same in all suspensions. The optical properties of the paper were measured and the inkjet and laser prints were evaluated. We found that particle size and size distribution have a significant influence on the colour of the coating, the rheology and the properties of the coated paper. The results show that the gloss of the paper surface improves as the width of the particle size distribution decreases, and that a smaller mean grain diameter leads to a better gloss. The brightness is more affected by the range of the distribution, as is the optical property of whiteness, the only difference being that whiteness decreases slightly after smoothing the paper and brightness decreases in the opposite direction. The opacity increases as the spread decreases, so the sample with the narrowest distribution transmits the least light. We did not see any effect on the print quality of the inkjet printer, as all the samples belong to the same quality class, but we did see a change in the contrast of the printed 2D codes. Slightly lower contrast is seen for paper samples coated with suspensions containing monodisperse particles.
