Abstract:Transspolne osebe doživljajo vsakdanje izzive v domačem, izobraževalnem in delovnem okolju.

Title:Transgenderism in prisons
Abstract:Transgender persons experience everyday challenges in their home and educational and work environments. These challenges are only magnified in a hostile and rigid environment like prison. Most transgender persons face violence, discrimination, humiliation, unfair treatment and limited access to the medical therapies they need during imprisonment. In the diploma thesis, we present the challenges that transgender persons face in prisons and their treatment in prisons in selected countries (the USA, Latin American countries, the United Kingdom and Italy) and highlight the similarities and differences between them. We found that transgender persons risk more physical, psychological and sexual assaults in the prison environment compared to the rest of the prison population and that their health condition is still not accepted, which is also reflected in their struggle to access the medical therapies they need. We also discover that the problem of treatment of transgender persons in prisons.
