Abstract:Podnebne spremembe so eden ključnih problemov, s katerim se dandanes soočamo.

Title:Environmentally friendly and sustainable operation and knowledge of carbon footprints in companies in the trading sector
Abstract:Climate change is one of the biggest problems we fight nowadays. We all can already feel the consequences of those changes. In Slovenia there are also more and more droughts and fires, floods, hailstorms. It is about time to start taking intensive action. With our bachelor’s thesis, we tried to find out how much are Slovenian retail organizations concerned about that. We wanted to know whether they already calculated or measured their carbon footprint, whether they work on sustainability and whether they use sustainable concepts in warehouses. We found out that retail organizations in Slovenia think that being concerned for the environment is important. They prove that with measures. Most of them have already calculated or measured their carbon footprint and taken measures in this area. They also know what sustainable operation is. They are aware that sustainability does not necessarily mean higher expenses. Measures already taken in the companies were in the field of energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and selling sustainable and local products. However, there is still a place for improvement.
