Abstract:Proučevali smo učinkovitost elektrolizirane oksidativne vode (EOV), pridobljene s sistemom Envirolyte®, na rast in vsebnost proteinov pri dveh sortah pelargonij, viseča Pelargonium peltatum »Feuer cascade« in pokončna Pelargonium interspecific »Calliope Dark Red«. Rastline pokončnih pelargonij so imele statistično značilno višjo koncentracijo skupnih proteinov v obeh terminih vzorčenja, če smo jih zalivali z 0,1 % raztopino EOV. Na podlagi dobljenih rezultatov potrjujemo pozitivni učinek 0,1 % koncentracije EOV, medtem ko 0,2 % koncentracijo smatramo kot previsoko.

Title:Effects of electrolyzed oxidative water on the growth and key metabolites of geraniums
Abstract:The effect of electrolyzed oxidative water (EOV) obtained with the Envirolyte® system on the growth and total protein content of two geranium cultivars, pendulous Pelargonium peltatum "Feuer cascade" and upright Pelargonium interspecific "Calliope Dark Red" was studied. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse at the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, where plants planted in pots were watered as needed with three concentrations of EOV (0%, 0,1% and 0,2%). For morphological and biochemical analyses, plants were sampled in two periods, in April and May. Based on the results obtained at the 1st sampling term, we conclude that the addition of 0,1% EOV solution has a positive impact on the observed morphological characteristics in both varieties of geranium. A downward trend in the average values of the studied morphological properties was observed in the 2nd term, when using a 0,2% concentration of the EOV solution. Upright geranium plants had a statistically significant higher concentration of total protein in both sampling ends when watered with a 0,1% EOV solution. Based on the obtained results, we confirm the positive effect of 0,1% EOV concentration, while 0,2% concentration is considered too high.
