Abstract:V zaključni nalogi analiziramo neverbalno komunikacijo televizijskih voditeljev z njihovimi gosti in gledalci.

Title:Analysis of nonverbal speech of news anchors and guests
Abstract:In the final thesis, we analysed the non-verbal communication of TV presenters with their guests and with us, the viewers. We analysed the programmes of the presenter Tanja Gobec with different guests, focusing on the types of non-verbal elements defined in the theoretical part of the thesis for each of the selected programmes. We found that the presenter showed more or less the same non-verbal signs most of the time, as TV presenting is her profession and her way of working. We pointed out the repetition of nodding when talking to guests and hand gestures. Throughout the programme, she mostly kept a serious face, which conveyed professionalism and kept the seriousness of the subject matter. Many guests do not maintain eye contact with the presenter at all times during the show, whereas the presenter maintains eye contact throughout the show. The only more intense response is when the RTV House is mentioned, as the presenter is emotionally involved due to the nature of her job. In the end, we found that the guests also have an impact on the overall interestingness of the show, but not all of them are as good in front of the camera as the presenter, who has a number of filmed shows under her belt in the TV world. The results of the analysis can be of use to anyone interested in non-verbal communication, as it provides the information we found in our analysis of a sample of ten shows. The findings of the analysis can be used to inform further research in the field of non-verbal communication and individuals working in the field.
