V sklopu diplomske naloge smo na betonskih kompozitih opravili naslednje preiskave: posed, gostoto, tlačni test, FTIR karakterizacijo, SEM-EDS analizo in meritve luminiscence.

Title:Luminescent concrete with the addition of non-recycled waste plastic
Abstract:Due to the ever-increasing ecological problem caused by plastic, scientists have been trying to find a way to use it in construction, the most powerful industry in the world. Previous research has shown that the compressive strength of concrete decreases as the amount of plastic increases. Due to the deterioration of the main properties of concrete, it is no longer suitable for the use in construction. As part of the thesis, we conducted the following tests on concrete composites: settlement, density, the compression test, FTIR characterization, SEM-EDS analysis and luminescence measurement. The objective of our research was to improve the compressive strength of concrete despite the addition of non-recycled plastic waste. We achieved this by adding microsilica and plastics to the fresh concrete mix. After research, we concluded that concrete with the addition of microsilica and plastics can be used for structural purposes, but its use for non-structural elements is more appropriate. Concrete composites were impregnated with a luminescent coating in order to have a persistent luminosity lasting for several hours. Since we added another property to the concrete - luminescence - we solved another major environmental problem, namely the illumination of road infrastructure. This concrete is therefore suitable for bicycle paths and sidewalks, as lighting is not required and the concrete can also withstand the weight of people and bicycles.
