113–116). Cilj diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti, kakšne želje in ambicije imajo glede razvoja športnikove kariere športnik sam, njegovi starši in njegov trener.

Title:Development of a sport career in tennis: a comparison of the expectations of young tennis players, their parents and coaches
Abstract:As we are living an extremely fast pace of life, the problem of children spending their free time indoors, watching TV or using electronic devices, tens to occur frequently. This is one of the main reasons parents strive to sign up their children to various sports activities. Nowadays, parents expect their children to be as perfect as they can and thus, unknowingly, put them under pressure (Tušak et all., 2009, pp. 113-116). The purpose of this thesis was to determine what kind of wishes and ambitions regarding the development of the sports career the athletes themselves, the parents and coaches have. Our interest was to determine what kind of symmetry is there in the wishes and expectations of all three participants. We wished to determine if the (un)symmetry, regarding the wishes and expectations of the previously mentioned participants, has an effect on the athlete and their development. By using a questionnaire, different results were obtained. It was concluded that 58,33% of the children think they could eventually become athletes. 62% of the parents believe their child could become a professional athlete. Most of the coaches think the athletes they coach have low to middle chance of a professional sports career. During the questionnaire process, it was determined that most of the athletes see the support of their parents and coaches as suitable.
