Dvoletni poljski poskus je bil izveden v treh terminih leta 2020 (pomlad, poletje, pozno poletje) in štirih terminih leta 2021 (pomlad, pozna pomlad, zgodnje poletje, zgodnja jesen) v Ivancih v severovzhodni Sloveniji.

Title:Monitoring the dynamics of gaining market rosette mass of different lettuce varieties for the purpose of by piece sale
Abstract:In recent years, the market production of lettuce has been dominated by rosette varieties which are sold by piece. The purpose of the research was to check how long individiual varieties of lettuce need to reach a rosette weight of at least 300 grams and thus an approipiate marketable mass, and to meet the rosette size standards. The two- year field experiment was carried out in three periods in 2020 (spring, summer, late summer) and four periods in 2021 (spring, late spring, early summer, early autumn) in Ivanci. A total of sixteen lettuce cultivars from different seed companies (Annisole, Begona, Champollion, Cortese, CRX41010, CRX41015, CRX41018, Davidole, Funly, Gloriole, Kayac, Lasydo, Lianabel, Mima, Sementel, Vignole) were included in the trial. The time that individual cultivars needed to reach a certain mass (300 g) differed between cultivars. It was also expected that the time period when the technologically mature rosettes were of suitable mass, differed depending on the cultivar. In 2020, the typical maximum market weight of the heads was reached in spring (567 g). In 2020, the Lianabel variety achieved a higher market weight of rosettes (490 g) than in 2021. When selling lettuce by the piece, it is very important to correctly choose the variety that will reach a weight of 300 g the fastest, in order to choose a suitable period for growing.
