Abstract:Uvod: Paroksizmalna supraventrikularna tahikardija (PSVT) je poseben klinični sindrom. Metode: Uporabili smo metodologije sistematičnega pregleda, analize in sinteze literature. S pomočjo vključitvenih in izključitvenih kriterijev smo v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, Web of Science, Springer Link, Science Direct, Wiley, Cochrane Library poiskali ustrezno literaturo.

Title:Methods of adenosine administration in the treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia
Abstract:Introduction: Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) is a specific clinical syndrome. Adenosine is recommended if vagal maneuvers do not stop PSVT. By reviewing the literature, we tried to identify and present the advantages and disadvantages of different adenosine application techniques in the treatment of PSVT. Methods: We used the methodologies of systematic literature review, analysis and synthesis. With the help of inclusion and exclusion criteria, we searched for relevant literature in the databases PubMed, Web of Science, Springer Link, Science Direct, Wiley, Cochrane Library. The search flow is shown with a PRISMA diagram. Articles included in the final analysis were critically evaluated using the Joanna Briggs Institutes (JBI) tool. Results: The use of adenosine with a stop valve gives lower doses of the drug than those prescribed. The single-syringe application method of diluted adenosine is effective and more convenient than the two-syringe application method for eliminating PSVT. We analyzed six articles that met the selected criteria. Discussion and conclusion: The only area of "gold standard" evidence regarding the use of adenosine is its efficacy and safety in the treatment of PSVT. There are gaps in the literature regarding areas other than those described in the paper, which is the appropriate route of administration. Through a review of the available literature, we concluded that the use of diluted adenosine appears to be potentially safe and effective in the treatment of PSVT.
