Abstract:Uvod: Psihične obremenitve so neizogiben del zdravstvenega dela. Iskanje je potekalo v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, Web of Science, SAGE journals, Scopus in ScienceDirect.

Title:Mental burdens of health workers in the emergency department
Abstract:Introduction: Mental stress is an inevitable part of working in healthcare, and it can affect any employee in the field. Healthcare workers in emergency department are among the most exposed, as work in this area is considered to be more stressful. If the negative effects of psychological stress are recognized too late, the elimination of consequences can require more time. Methods: The scientific literature was systematically reviewed and an analysis of the obtained sources was made, using a descriptive method. We included articles related to our topic and population as well as studies based on cross-sectional and qualitative or quantitative studies. The search was conducted in PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, Web of Science, SAGE journals, Scopus and ScienceDirect databases. Results: In the results, we analyzed 13 studies, which show us that health workers, especially nurses in emergency department, most frequently suffer from depression, anxiety, sleep disorders and burnout. Discussion and conclusion: Based on the review of the articles, we can claim that employees in the emergency department struggle with quite similar consequences of psychological stress. These can be alleviated using various effective techniquee, however, we should have in mind that firstly the causes of mental stress must be eliminated.
