Abstract:Uvod: Stigmatizacija oseb z duševnimi motnjami s strani zdravstvenih delavcev in splošne javnosti predstavlja problem, s katerim se osebe z duševnimi motnjami soočajo. V raziskavo so bili vključeni zdravstveni delavci in splošna javnost. Za zbiranje podatkov smo uporabili standardizirani vprašalnik. Podatke smo analizirali s pomočjo opisne in sklepne statistike. Rezultati: Ovrgli smo prvo hipotezo, saj ob primerjavi zdravstvenih delavcev in splošne javnosti nismo zaznali statistično značilne razlike (p = 0,268) v stopnji stigmatizacije.

Title:Stigmatization of people with mental health disorders by health professionals and the general public
Abstract:Introduction: The stigmatization of people with mental disorders by health professionals and the general public is a problem, faced by people with mental disorders. The purpose of the final work is to determine the presence of stigmatization of people with mental disorders by health professionals in comparison with the general public. Methods: We used a quantitative research methodology. Healthcare professionals and individuals from the general public were included in the study. A standardized questionnaire was used to collect data. Data were analyzed using descriptive and concluding statistics. Results: We refused first hypotesis, because when comparing health care workers and the general public, we didn't detect a significant difference (p = 0,268) in stigmatization. We rejected second hypotesis, as we didn't detect significant differences (p = 0,568) in stigmatization in healthcare professionals based on years of experience in healthcare. In health care workers we perceived a significant difference in stigmatization (p = 0,0297) according to the field of work. Discussion and conclusion: There is no significant difference in stigmatization between health professionals and the general public, nor by health professionals according to years of work experience in health care. All over the world, measures are being taken to reduce the level of stigmatization of people with mental disorders.
