Abstract:Namen magistrskega dela je primerjati institucionalno okolje Indije in Kitajske.

Title:A comparative analysis of the institutional environment of India and China
Abstract:The purpose of this master's thesis is to compare the institutional environment of India and China. The aim of the thesis is to study the political, economic, and social institutions in both countries and to find out how these institutions affect their international trade and foreign direct investments. The review also includes a short historical overview and its influence on the long-term development of the said institutions. We investigate the similarities and differences between the institutions and whether they have different effects on the economic growth and development of the countries in question. The above-mentioned institutional environments have maintained their influence even in recent years as China maintains its international trade advantage over India, as well as continuously attracts more foreign direct investment. Due to opposing interests and the occupation of a certain territory, this breaks relations between the countries, which is mainly seen in the reduction of imports from India to China and in the setting of new restrictions by India on the inflow of foreign investments, which mainly applies to neighbouring countries. This mainly applies to China, as India wants to prevent Chinese companies from taking over Indian companies. Thanks to its developed pharmaceutical sector, India is strengthening the inflow of foreign investments and its international trade but weakened relations with China may lead to the loss of one its largest import partners. In contrast, this threatens China with the loss of its largest export market.
