Title:Work from home and virtual project teams
Abstract:In organizations, there is a problem of organizing work from home in shuch a way, that the work would be done as efficiently as physical work in a company or organization. In the thesis, we studied the problem in the environment of five different companies that worked from home as virtual project teams. With the help of professional literature, we presented ways of working from home and the advantages and disadvantages. We described the reasons for the increase in working from home and explored when a team can be defined as a virtual team and what types of virtual teams we know. We also looked in detail at the leadership styles needed to successfully manage virtual project teams. We reviewed and defined the technological support best suited for managing work and collaboration within virtual project teams, and we also touched on ways to monitor work from the leadership side. We created and conducted a survey among five companies, through which we learned how team members cope with working from home. We found that most problems arise due to technical challenges, poor computer equipment, loneliness or lack of personal contact, cooperation and communication with team members. Respondents also expressed a desire for additional training that would help them better manage work from home. For identified problems, we have prepared suggestions and directions for improving work from home and functioning within virtual project teams.
