Title:The impact of increased online shopping on logistics processes at the dislocated unit of Post Ravne na Koroškem
Abstract:The diploma thesis shows how increased online shopping affected the dislocated unit of Post Ravne na Koroškem. The theoretical part presents the company Post of Slovenia and the services they offer. This chapter also contains a description of how online shopping affects the growth of postal services of all postal service providers within and outside the borders of Slovenia. In the existing situation chapter, we talk about the situation at the dislocated unit in Čečovje, its location, a description of the space itself, the delivery vehicles and equipment used there. In this chapter, we also describe and analyse the logistics processes that were carried out there. The next chapter is a proposal for a solution to the problem, where we show the new location that Post of Slovenia has chosen as a solution to the problem of the dislocated unit. In this chapter, we analyse the same logistics processes as we did at the old location and show the differences between the old and the new location through a discussion. We find that by building a new location, the company has reduced the number of activities required to carry out the process of loading and unloading the postal truck. In the process of distribution of postal packages, a saving in time has been established. At the end of the assignment, we also evaluated the success of the solution to the problem, stated the conditions for implementing the solution and suggested possibilities for further research.
