Abstract:Za učence razredne stopnje smo želeli ustvariti kakovostne avtorske uglasbitve otroških pesmi in glasbeno pravljico. Naštejemo najvidnejše slovenske skladatelje otroških pesmi, predstavimo glavne značilnosti v besedilu, vsebini, obliki, ritmu, melodiji, tempu, dinamiki, artikulaciji in izrazu, instrumentalni spremljavi ter otroškem obsegu.

Title:Setting selected Neža Maurer children's poems to music
Abstract:We wished to create high-quality original musical compositions of children’s poems and a musical fairy tale for primary school pupils. We present the poet Neža Mauer, her poetry for children and youth, and some of her children’s songs that have been recorded as audio recordings and on sheet music. We list the most prominent Slovenian composers of the poems for children, present the main characteristics in terms of text, content, form, rhythm, melody, tempo, dynamics, articulation and expression, instrumental accompaniment and children’s vocal range. We define the musical fairy tale, describe the text and music in that tale, state the key differences between a musical fairy tale and a fairy tale with music, provide some examples of well-known fairy tales, and discuss the goals of listening to and performing a musical fairy tale. We present the collection Beli muc (White cat) by Neža Maurer and our own compositions of ten selected poems from the collection. For each poem, we analyse the lyrics and music and add the score or notation for the poem – separately, we provide the vocal part and vocals with guitar accompaniment. The musical fairy tale Janekovo popotovanje (Janek’s journey) is written in narrative form. Teachers can therefore perform it entirely on their own, and recordings of all ten songs are available on YouTube. In the self-reflection chapter, we shed light on the course of the creative process, while the final chapter presents an expert review of the songs and the musical fairy tale. In the appendix, we have added a script that allows pupils to perform a dramatic version of the musical fairy tale.
