Literaturo smo poiskali v podatkovnih bazah: Pubmed, Cinahl, Medline in Web of Science. Članke, vključene v analizo, smo poiskali s pomočjo vključitvenih in izključitvenih kriterijev.

Title:Use of ultrasound among nurses during intravenous access
Abstract:Intravenous access and ultrasound complement each other in connection with each other and play an important role in the treatment of the patient, as this is how we provide the necessary intravenous therapy and laboratory blood analysis. When traditional methods of intravenous catheterization fail, we resort to the use of an ultrasound-guided technique for setting up intravenous access, which can be performed by a trained and experienced registered nurse. Methods: In the graduate work, we implemented a descriptive method of work. We searched the literature in databases: Pubmed, Cinahl, Medline and Web of Science. We searched for articles included in the analysis using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: We included 7 content-relevant articles in the analysis out of all 147 hits. The results showed us that ultrasound-guided venous catheterization is more successful and faster than traditional venous catheterization techniques. Discussion and conclusion: Peripheral intravenous access is absolutely necessary to ensure stabilization of the critically ill/injured, intravenous therapy and laboratory blood analysis. Ultrasound venous catheterization makes it easier for us to set up peripheral intravenous access in hard-to-reach, deep, non-palpable veins. The frequent use of ultrasound venous catheterization is widespread and used abroad, while on Slovenian soil it is only used in emergency situations.
