Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava besedotvorne posebnosti Pohlinovega jezika v primerjavi z današnjim knjižnim jezikom. Zadnji del magistrskega dela zajema predstavitev treh zanimivih besednih družin v Pohlinovem slovarju, katerih kontinuiteto smo opazovali še v Pleteršnikovem slovarju in v Slovarju slovenskega knjižnega jezika 2.

Title:Word formation characteristics of Pohlin's language
Abstract:The master's thesis examines the word formation features of Pohlin's language in comparison with the current standard Slovene. In the theoretical part, Marko Pohlin's linguistic and lexicographical work are introduced. The overview of prior studies of word formation in his language is presented as well. On the following pages, the principles of word formation theory and word-formational stylistics, which served as a basis for our analysis, are presented. The latter included the study of the compounds, selected from Marko Snoj's dictionary Slovar Pohlinovega jezika (2020). Our analysis involved the comparison of the chosen examples of words beginning with letters from A to J to their recent synonyms. The focus was on their main constituents, compound stems and affixes. When determining their characteristics, their origin and integration in dictionaries, published before and after Pohlin's work, were considered as well. In the last part of our thesis, three interesting word families along with their continuity in Pleteršnik's dictionary and Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika 2 are presented.
