Abstract:Problem brezposelnosti je v središču pozornosti oblikovalcev ekonomske politike.

Title:Unemployment in Serbia during the Covid-19 crisis
Abstract:The problem of unemployment is in the center of attention of economic policy makers. Unemployed persons are those persons who are out of work for a certain period of time, who are willing to work and who are looking for work. Unemployment is a major problem of any economy. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to discover the causes that affect its scope and structure. The movement of labor market indicators depends on the success of the implementation and the results of the implemented measures of the relevant employment policy. We decided on this topic because we believe that unemployment is one of the major problems of countries during the covid-19 pandemic. The subject of the work is to give a more realistic picture of unemployment in relation to the movement of labor market indicators in Serbia and the Western Balkan region before and during the covid-19 crisis. In the thesis, we will present an analysis of unemployment in Serbia and a comparative analysis of unemployment in Serbia and other Western Balkan countries. Based on data from the years 2019, 2020 and 2021, we will analyze how the unemployment rate in Serbia fluctuated during the covid-19 crisis, we will also present how the unemployment rate between the male and female population fluctuated. We will also present examples of good practice in solving the unemployment problem.
