Abstract:Uvod: Primarna dismenoreja pomeni prisotnost krčevite bolečine v času menstruacije, za lajšane katere ženske najpogosteje uporabljajo nesteroidne antirevmatike in oralne kontraceptive, vendar so ta zdravila pri nekaterih kontraindicirana ali povzročajo neželene učinke. Potek iskanja smo predstavili s pomočjo PRISMA diagrama.

Title:Non-Pharmacological methods of relieving menstrual pain in women with primary dysmenorrhea
Abstract:Introduction: Primary dysmenorrhea means the presence of cramping/spasmodic pain during menstruation, for the relief of which women most often use nonsteroidal antirheumatics and oral contraceptives, but these types of medicine are contraindicated for some and may cause side effects. In these cases, they can help themselves with non-pharmacological measures to relieve menstrual pain. The purpose of this paper is to find out which non-pharmacological methods women with primary dysmenorrhea relieve their pain and what their effectiveness is. Methods: We sought research to prepare this paper In the databases PubMed and ScienceDirect, using a search string and setting limitations. We presented the search process using the PRISMA diagram. We classified the evidence strength using an evidence hierarchy. Results: Research has shown many different non-pharmacological ways to relieve menstrual pain in primary dysmenorrhea. Non-pharmacological measures that have been shown to be effective include: acupuncture, injection of vitamin K3 into acupuncture points, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, consumption of Eryngo extracts, extracorporeal shock wave therapy, moxibustion, medical taping, low-level light therapy, and consumption of ginger and superficial/topical use of ginger oil. Discussion: Women with primary dysmenorrhea have many options available for non-pharmacological relief of menstrual pain. One of the more thoroughly researched is acupuncture. A characteristic of non-pharmacological measures to reduce menstrual pain are few side effects, and often none at all. Some are also suitable for home use and for everyday use.
