Metode: Izvedli smo sistematičen način pregleda z analizo in sintezo znanstvene in strokovne literature. Članke smo iskali v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah CINAHL, Web of science, Pubmed in Cochrane Library. Uporabili smo opisno metodo dela. Posamezne članke smo razvrstili glede na hierarhično strukturo. Rezultati: Izmed 88 identificiranih raziskav smo v končno analizo vključili 10 člankov. Prišli smo do ugotovitve, da uporaba brezšivnih sistemov pritrjevanja bistveno vpliva na zmanjševanje incidence izpada in okužbe žilnih katetrov. Razprava in sklep: Tradicionalnemu pritrjevanju žilnih katetrov z uporabo šivov se je zaradi možnosti poškodb in okužbe potrebno izogibati. Brezšivno pritrjevanje v kombinaciji s primernimi obliži je za preprečevanje incidence okužb in izpadov žilnih katetrov bistvenega pomena.

Title:The use of seamless vessel catheter attachment systems
Abstract:Introduction: The use of vascular catheters is indispensable in regards to the treatment of critically ill patients. Compared to traditional fixing with stitches, seamless systems for securing vascular catheters are less painful for the patient, enable safer immobilization, and there also lower the risk of injury for the person inserting the vascular catheter. The purpose of this work is to investigate the use and effectiveness of the seamless vascular catheter systems in reducing infections or vascular catheter failure Methods: A systematic review was carried out by analysing and synthesizing scientific and professional literature. The articles were searched in the international databases CINAHL, Web of science, Pubmed, and Cochrane Library. We used the descriptive method of work. Individual articles were classified according to the hierarchical structure Results: Out of the 88 identified studies, we included 10 articles in the final analysis. We have concluded that the use of seamless systems has a significant effect on reducing the incidents of failure and infection of vascular catheters. Discussion and conclusion: Traditional fixation of vascular catheters using sutures should be avoided due to the possibility of injury and infection. Sutureless fixes combined with appropriate dressings is essential to prevent the incidence of infections and vascular catheter failures.
