Metode: V diplomskem delu smo pregledali, analizirali in sintetizirali znanstveno literaturo. Uporabljeni sta bili deskriptivna metoda in metoda kompilacije. Literaturo smo iskali v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah PubMed, MEDLINE in Science Direct. Potek iskanja smo prikazali z diagramom PRISMA; v pomoč so nam bili Boolovi operaterji, ključne besede, vključitveni in izključitveni kriteriji ter limiti. Rezultati: V podatkovnih bazah smo našli 302 zadetka.

Title:The importance of early mobilization for recovery of adults in intensive care units
Abstract:Introduction: Early mobilization is a series of nursing interventions. It is especially useful in intensive care units. Early mobilization has an impact on improved muscle strength, functional independence, reduced duration of delirium, and mechanical ventilation. Consequently, hospitalization time is reduced. The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis is to research the importance of early mobilization in the recovery of adults in intensive care units. Methods: In the bachelor’s thesis, we reviewed, analyzed, and synthesized the scientific literature. A descriptive method and a compilation method were used. Literature was searched in the international databases PubMed, MEDLINE, and Science Direct. We presented the search process by the PRISMA diagram. We utilized Boolean operators, keywords, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and limits. Results: We found 302 hits in the databases. 15 were eligible for our study. The results of the literature review showed that early mobilization reduced the incidence of weakness associated with intensive care unit hospitalization. Muscle strength, functional capacity, and mobility at discharge were also improved. Discussion and conclusion: In our research on the importance of early mobilization of adults in intensive care units, we ascertained that early mobilization of a critically ill patient has a beneficial effect. The duration of hospitalization is reduced and consequently, complications. The patient's mobility is improved in the long term.
