Čeprav bistvenih nalog ravnanja s pacienti, prevoza in oskrbe ni mogoče odpraviti, je zasnovo reševalnih vozil in pripadajoče opreme mogoče spreminjati.

Title:Analysis of the impact of physical ergonomics on intervention in the emergency medical service
Abstract:Paramedics can suffer musculoskeletal injuries in their line of work when lifting and carrying patients during emergency medical services (EMS). Technical changes, such as the design of new EMS patient handling devices, offer a potential intervention opportunity to combat this problem. The purpose of the research was to define the optimal ergonomic design of the workplace of an employee in the NMP and to define the physical factors of ergonomic ergonomics that affect the implementation of the intervention and the health of the employees in the NMP. Ergonomic risk factors, such as excessive physical exertion, awkward positions, or repetitive motions, were the leading causes of injury among EMS workers, with most injuries attributed to lifting, carrying the patient, and/or equipment. Although the essential tasks of patient handling, transport and care cannot be eliminated, the design of ambulances and associated equipment can be modified. Our objectives were to determine the extent of consideration of human factors and ergonomics in existing standards/regulations for ambulance design. Our findings showed that the existing standards/regulations took limited account of the ergonomic design of the workplace. As a result, ergonomic principles continue to be considered reactively through retrofit rather than proactively in workplace design. We recommend that performance-based ergonomic workplace design requirements be incorporated directly into ambulance design standards.
