Abstract:Uvod: Starševstvo otroka z motnjo avtističnega spektra (MAS) spremljajo določene specifične in pogosto težavne okoliščine, ki vplivajo na kakovost življenja staršev. Iskanje literature je s pomočjo iskalnega niza in ob upoštevanju omejitev potekalo v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah Cochrane Library, MEDLINE in PubMed. Pri tem smo uporabili metodo tematske analize. Sam potek iskanja literature smo predstavili s PRISMA diagramom. Moč dokazov smo razvrstili z uporabo hierarhije dokazov. Razprava in zaključek: Starši otroka z MAS so v veliki meri primorani spremeniti in prilagoditi svoje življenje temu otroku, kar za njih predstavlja več stresnih situacij: izgubo prijateljev, negativne odzive javnosti, zapostavljanje ostalih družinskih članov, slabši partnerski odnos, večja možnost ločitve, večje finančno breme.

Title:A child's with autism spectrum disorder impact on the quality of parents´ life in a family
Abstract:Introduction: Parenting a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is accompanied by certain specific and often difficult circumstances that affect the quality of life of the parents. The child's specific behaviour because of ASD is a factor that has a significant impact on the quality of life of the parents in the family. The aim of this thesis is to investigate and present the impact of a child with ASD on the quality of life of parents in the family. Methods: We have used the descriptive method to describe each concept. The literature search was conducted in the international databases Cochrane Library, MEDLINE and PubMed, using a search string and taking into account the limitations. The thematic analysis method was used. The literature search process was represented by a PRISMA diagram. The strength of evidence was ranked using the hierarchy of evidence. Results: 6 articles were included in the analysis. It is concluded that parents of children with ASD have a poorer quality of life compared to parents of healthy children, as they face greater changes and many challenges in their daily lives, including social, family and partner relationships, as well as employment and financial burdens. Discussion and conclusion: Parents of a child with ASD are largely forced to change and adapt their lives to the child, which means more stressful situations, loss of friends, negative public reactions, neglect of other family members, poorer partner relationships, greater separation, and a greater financial burden. Alongside the negative impacts, it is also important to mention the possible positive impacts, such as increased cohesion between the partners, greater patience, and spiritual empowerment.
