Zakonodajne zahteve in odgovornosti dokumentiranja medicinskih sester v Avstriji in Sloveniji so v pregledanih segmentih enake, kar smo potrdili z pregledom znanstvene in strokovne literaturo ter s tem ovrgli hipotezo 1.

Title:Legislative requirements and nurse's responsibility for documentation - a comparison of nurse awareness in slovenia-austria
Abstract:Documentation in nursing is of paramount importance for safe, continuous and quality nursing care, and is one of the few tools that nurses have to protect themselves and to demonstrate their performance. Despite its paramount importance, it receives too little attention in daily practice due to a number of factors, at least until its absence leads to complications. The research methodology in the Master's thesis is based on quantitative methodology, which in turn is based on the philosophy of positivism. 118 structured questionnaires were used to conduct the survey, 61 from employees in Slovenia and 57 from employees in Austria. The data were analysed and the results presented in tables and graphs and processed using the IBM SPSS 27.0 statistical software. The legislative requirements and responsibilities for documentation of nurses in Austria and Slovenia are the same in the examined segments, which was confirmed by a review of the scientific and professional literature, thus disproving hypothesis 1. Hypothesis 2 was confirmed as we found that nurses in Austria are statistically much better informed than nurses in Slovenia about the legal requirements at home country level and about the legal responsibilities of nurses in nursing (p < 0.05, p = 0), while regardless of country they both agree that nursing documentation is an important part of nursing care (p > 0.05).The lack of documentation in nursing is a global problem that should be highlighted by educational institutions and the institutions in which we work.
