Keywords:Neobanke, tradicionalne banke, karakteristike uporabnikov, digitalizacija, poslovanje.

Title:Analysis of the performance of neobanks compared to traditional banks
Abstract:In this paper, we will focus on the analysis of the performance of neobanks compared to traditional banks in terms of business model, service offering and performance. Considering that the economy is constantly changing, market participants have to keep up with these changes. The development of technology and the entry of new competitors into the banking sector have created disruptions in the way banks do business, and it is the neobanks, which are representatives of fintech companies and manage their business exclusively digitally, that have put pressure on the existing banks, which we have known for many years. We are currently in a period where we are witnessing a battle between, on the one side, the established traditional banks, which have started to use new technology and to adapt their products to their customers, and, on the other side, the neobanks, which are gaining in popularity due to their ease of use and their low-cost products. The European market in particular has recently witnessed the development of a number of successful neobanks. Slovenia, as a member of the European Union, does not yet have a neobank, but on the other hand has many users who have an account with a foreign neobank. Loyalty to traditional banks and neobanks was also examined by means of a questionnaire survey, where we investigated the key characteristics of Slovenian users for the choice of a potential bank.
Keywords:Neobanks, traditional banks, customer characteristics, digitisation, business.
