Abstract:Vizualizacija tokovnih pojavov igra ključno vlogo na različnih znanstvenih in inženirskih področjih. Diplomsko delo raziskuje zgodovinski razvoj, uporabo in eksperimentalne zahteve optične metode schlieren kot zmogljivega orodja za vizualizacijo in razumevanje tokovnih pojavov. Tehnika schlieren omogoča zaznavanje in vizualizacijo sprememb lomnega količnika prosojnega medija, kar zagotavlja dragocen vpogled v dinamiko tekočin, aerodinamiko in prenos toplote. Diplomsko delo obravnava temeljna načela metode schlieren, vključno s konfiguracijo optičnih komponent, izbiro svetlobnega vira in tehnike zajema slike. Poleg tega raziskuje vsestranskost metode pri vizualizaciji različnih tokovnih pojavov, kot so udarni valovi, mejne plasti, vrtinci in konvekcijski tokovi. Preučene so prednosti in omejitve tehnike schlieren, skupaj z lastnim eksperimentalnim sistemom schlieren. Skozi vizualizacijo tokovnih pojavov ponuja metoda schlieren raziskovalcem in inženirjem dragoceno orodje za proučevanje kompleksne dinamike tekočin in izboljšanje našega razumevanja temeljnih procesov.

Title:Visualization of flow phenomena with schlieren optics method
Abstract:The visualization of flow phenomena plays a crucial role in various scientific and engineering fields. This thesis explores historical development, application and experimental requirements of the Schlieren optics method as a powerful tool for visualizing and understanding flow phenomena. The Schlieren technique enables the detection and visualization of changes in the refractive index of a transparent medium, providing valuable insights into fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer. This thesis discusses the fundamental principles of the Schlieren optics method, including the configuration of optical components, light source selection, and image capture techniques. Furthermore, it explores the versatility of the Schlieren method in visualizing various flow phenomena, such as shock waves, boundary layers, vortices, and convection currents. The advantages and limitations of the Schlieren technique are examined, along with our own experimental schlieren system. Through the visualization of flow phenomena, the Schlieren optics method offers researchers and engineers a valuable tool for studying complex fluid dynamics and advancing our understanding of fundamental processes.
