Abstract:Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz dveh delov, in sicer iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu se posvetimo poglobljeni proučitvi portfeljske analize. Sistematično razčlenimo njene osrednje značilnosti, prednosti in potencialne omejitve. V tem okviru so nadrobno obravnavane različne metode portfeljske analize, med katerimi izpostavljamo BCG matriko, General Electric-McKinsey matriko, DPM matriko, Hoferjevo portfeljsko matriko in ADL matriko. Vsaki metodi je namenjena posebna pozornost glede integracije računovodskih podatkov in njihove relevantnosti za posamezno metodologijo. Nadaljevanje teoretičnega dela se osredotoča na strateško planiranje razvoja, kjer se poglobimo v koncepte strateških poslovnih enot in področij, raznolikost strategij in v proces planiranja strategij. V empiričnem delu diplomskega dela izvedemo portfeljsko analizo izbranega podjetja z uporabo zgoraj navedenih metod. Skozi to analizo pridobimo vpogled v specifične značilnosti vsake metode in njihovo uporabnost v praksi. Rezultati analize omogočajo primerjavo med metodami in razkrivajo razlike v rezultatih, ki jih posamezne metode ponujajo v kontekstu izbranega podjetja.

Title:Using portfolio analysis in business development planning processes
Abstract:The thesis consists of two parts, a theoretical part and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, we focus on an in-depth investigation of portfolio analysis. We systematically analyze its main characteristics, advantages and potential limitations. In this context, the different methods of portfolio analysis are discussed in detail, among which we highlight the BCG matrix, the General Electric-McKinsey matrix, the DPM matrix, the Hofer portfolio matrix and the ADL matrix. Each method is given special attention with regard to the integration of accounting data and its relevance to the specific methodology. The theoretical part continues with a focus on strategic development planning, where the concepts of strategic business units and areas, the diversity of strategies and the strategy planning process are explored. In the empirical part of the thesis, a portfolio analysis of a selected company is carried out using the above methods. Through this analysis we gain insight into the specific characteristics of each method and their applicability in practice. The results of the analysis allow a comparison between the methods and reveal the differences in the results offered by each method in the context of the selected company.
