Abstract:Področje uporabe dinamične teorije v ekonomiji je obsežno in razgibano. Koncepte in izreke, povezane z ekonomsko dinamiko, pogosto najdemo v znanstvenih revijah in učbenikih ekonomije. Brez ustreznega znanja o dinamični teoriji je skoraj nemogoče pregledati, kaj šele preučiti, literaturo o ekonomski teoriji in empiričnih študijah. Diplomsko delo ponuja uvod v teorijo in osnovne koncepte reševanja linearnih diferenčnih enačb. V prvem poglavju so predstavljene predpostavke, namen in hipoteze diplomskega dela. V drugem poglavju so opisani osnovni pojmi in rešitve diferenčnih enačb. Tretje in četrto poglavje sta namenjeni predstavitvi reševanja linearnih diferenčnih enačb prvega reda in njihovi aplikaciji v ekonomski teoriji. V naslednjih dveh poglavjih nato na enak način preučujemo še linearne diferenčne enačbe drugega reda. V zadnjem, sedem poglavju pa so povzete ugotovitve diplomske naloge.

Title:The Use of First and Second Order Linear Difference Equations in Economics
Abstract:The field of applications of dynamic theory to economics is a vast and vibrant area. Concepts and theorems related to economic dynamics appear everywhere in academic journals and textbooks in economics. One can hardly approach, not to mention study, the literature of economic theory and empirical studies about economic systems without proper knowledge of dynamic theory. The thesis provides an introduction to the theory and basic concepts of solving linear difference equations, as well as their application in the analysis of economic problems. Difference equations form the mathematical foundation for discrete models, where time is a discrete variable. Differential and difference equations are used in modeling motion and change in all areas of science. The dynamic theory has become an essential tool of economic analysis particularly since computer has become commonly available. The thesis is roughly divided into seven main chapters. In the first chapter, assumptions, objectives, and hypotheses of the thesis are presented. The second chapter describes basic concepts and solutions of difference equations. The third and fourth chapters are dedicated to the presentation of solving first-order linear difference equations and their application in economic theory, where in the following two chapters we similarly study second-order linear difference equations. In the final, seventh chapter, the findings of the thesis are summarized.
Keywords:difference equations, discrete function, first order difference equations, second order difference equations, models, use
