Medosebna dinamika, zlasti obremenitve zaradi pritožb sodelavcev in morebitnih govoric, še dodatno otežijo njihove delovne izkušnje in zaznavanega zadovoljstva pri delu.

Title:Impact of overwork on institutional care employees within the their work tasks
Abstract:Introduction: The nursing home sector is crucial to our healthcare system, especially given the demands of an ageing population and its requirements for complex care. Delving into the details of workload and its wider implications for care home staff is topical and crucial. Methods: In our study, we sought to draw on the extensive experience and insights of health centre staff to explore patterns and feelings related to workload, emotional demands, and perceptions of job satisfaction and work-related stress. Results: The study's findings point to an excessive workload, with two-thirds often experiencing burnout. Although around 10% of participants felt stressed by their role, 90% saw their duties as a mission. The findings suggest that around 70% of respondents are satisfied with their job, while around 62% cited interpersonal tensions, in particular complaints from colleagues, as a key stressor. Discussion: The overall findings of the study suggest that carers exude dedication and pride in the profession, even though they are largely confronted with physical demands and emotional pressures, which are accentuated by strained relationships with care home residents. The interpersonal dynamics, particularly the strain of complaints from colleagues and possible gossip, add to their work experience and perceived job satisfaction. Conclusion: Although the staff in care homes show commendable pride and commitment, some human resources interventions are needed on the part of such institutions and their management. Initiatives that focus on team cohesion, clear demarcation of roles and the elimination of staff imbalances could herald a transformation for both caregivers and residents.
