Title:Analysing the adequacy of kindergarten environment for physical and motor development of pre-schoolers
Abstract:In the diploma entitled Analysing the Adequancy of Kindergarten Environment for Physical and Motor Development of Pre-schoolers , we presented in the theoretical part different environments that occur in the kindergarten. We also touched on various didactic tools that are important for children's physical development. We have presented different ways of cooperation between parents and kindergarten teachers. We have described the role of the kindergarten teacher and the role of peers in children's play. At the end, we also described the suitability factors of the environment for the physical and movement development of children. In the empirical part, our aim was to analyze and determine whether the kindergarten environment is suitable for the physical and movement development of preschool children, focusing on supporting physical activity and critical thinking of children and the relationship between parents/caregivers and kindergarten teachers. The analysis was carried out using the Movement Environment Rating Scale (MOVERS) for 2-6 year-olds provision. The main findings were that the majority of kindergartens have a suitable environment for physical and movement development, but there are still many shortcomings that need to be improved in order to provide an even better environment for children. It was also established that some kindergarten teachers put in much more effort and encourage physical and movement development than others, and that the relationship between parents/ caregivers and kindergarten teachers in most kindergartens is between good and excellent.
Keywords:Kindergarten environment, physical development, MOVERS, movement of children.
